FOUNDERS

  • Founder & Managing Director

    Jane is an entrepreneur, investor, board member and founder of TAW Ventures, a venture firm dedicated to advancing pet wellness, health and longevity through strategic investments in groundbreaking products and solutions. With a vision to advance the pet wellness industry, TAW Ventures partners with entrepreneurs and family businesses developing research-backed innovations that improve the lives of animals and the people who love them.

    Jane’s passion for innovation was shaped during her 28-year tenure at ELC, where she helped build some of the most beloved beauty brands and drove enterprise transformation. In addition to her work in business and innovation, Jane is committed to advancing education and leadership for women in STEM. She endowed a Data Science professorship at Stanford University, and serves on the boards of Stanford University, the New York Public Library, Friends of the High Line, and Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League.


    Jane earned her B.A. in History from Stanford University and resides in Palm Beach, Florida with her husband and beloved dog, Thaddeus.

    Originally from Canada, Thaddeus moved to the U.S. with one mission: to bring joy to his mom’s life. Mission accomplished. Now Co-Founder of TAW Ventures, Thaddeus takes his role very seriously—overseeing treat tastings, inspiring big ideas, and reminding everyone who’s really in charge. His current favorites? Saint Rocco’s Cheeseburger Treats and Polkadog Clam Chowda.

  • Operating Partner

    Brock Weatherup is an entrepreneur, board member, advisor, executive, four-time startup CEO/ founder with three exits, and active early stage investor. He is a current board member, and advisor of several consumer companies, including an Operating Partner with TAW Ventures, Executive Chair of Wild Society Nutrition, and executive coach to several startup CEOs. Brock is a passionate advocate about leveraging technology to sell a product or service, and he believes that all great companies are built with great people.

    Brock is currently on the board of, and and an angel investor in several companies including: Wild Society Nutrition, Oowlish Technologies, PetShopBowl UK, and TrustedHousesitters. A graduate of University of Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business '94 and father of two daughters. Proudly an #MSWarrior fighting the good fight every day having been diagnosed with Primary Progressive Multiple Sclerosis in fall of 2021.

  • Chief Veterinary Officer


    Dr. Mike McFarland was the Chief Medical Officer at Zoetis and a founding member of HABRI with four decades of leadership in veterinary medicine. Mike received his undergraduate degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University in 1980 and his DVM from the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M in 1985. He is board certified by the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners. Before joining Pfizer Animal Health (now Zoetis), he was a companion animal veterinary clinician for 15 years, including 5 years as the Medical Director for one of the country’s first after-hours emergency practices in Dallas, Texas.


    Mike started his career with Pfizer Animal Health in January 2000 as an Area Veterinarian in Texas and was given positions of increasing responsibility over the next several years. In 2010, Mike then served as the Group Director for Veterinary Medical Services. He was the Senior Medical Advisor on the US Operations Leadership Team, Chair of the US Veterinary Leadership Team and responsible for Veterinary Medical Information & Product Support (Drug Safety) as well as US Academic and Professional Affairs. His efforts were instrumental in establishing the multi-million dollar Pfizer Animal Health Veterinary Student Scholarship Award.


    Mike retired from his position as Chief Medical Officer in 2024.
